The trails and tracks of North Wales offer some of the most splendid green roads in the United Kingdom, both for scenery and technical driving. Don’t let that put you off; we provide support and guidance throughout you time with Trails & Tracks from beginning to end.
The highlight of day one is the fabulous Strata Florida, followed by some great driving around the Elan Valley including the famous Claerwen Dam; you know that famous Land Rover advert and the small one from Top Gear. Before the day ends we make our way northwards to our base for the next two nights near the market town of Dolgellau. Saturday’s trails and tracks will include Happy Valley and Bomber Lane (at this point in time HV is subject to a voluntary restriction) but don’t worry we have a rather interesting alternative track should this be the case. Sunday includes tracks through Coed y Brenin Forest, the infamous Corwen Car Wash and the splendid Wayfarer; finishing early afternoon for homewards journey’s.
Accommodation is not included in this tour allowing guests to have the flexibility to choose their own level and standard of accommodation. However, we would love for you to join us at our choice of accommodation each evening around the camp fire. Please contact us for further information.
This is an Adventure Tour a blend of green road driving that explores both driver and vehicle abilities and capabilities with a combination of terrain however frequently with a twist that includes something more technical that requires vehicles meet certain standards and levels of equipment, as with driver confidence and ability.
All terrain tyres are a minimum as is a vehicle with high and low ratio gears and locking differentials. A raised air intake (snorkel), underbody and side body protection such as steering and diff guards, tree and rock sliders are recommended. Special programs offered by the various 4×4 manufactures such as Electronic, Limited Slip or Air Locking Rear Differential, Terrain Response, Command Trac and 4WD will usually be required during your adventure. We strongly advise that your vehicle has a full size spare wheel; space savers and/or repair kits are not recommended.
